Costume Inspiration

This picture has inspired me for my costumes on my magazine as it shows a rapper wearing chains and nice clothes which represents their succesfull career. Also his facial expression being a plain, pose as they want the audience to know that this isnt a picture taken on a night out but in a photo shoot to show off. This is a typical photoshoot picture which isnt very original but the costume and facial expressions of the model make it original in its own sense and in my opinion is very useful to take ideas from.

Another picture that inspired my constume design is the picture of Wale. This is a very inspirational picture as the rapper is shown a lot of character through only his facial expression, which inspired me to use my model's facial expressions more to express what kind of personality he/she has. Also because he has a different posture shows his originality from just normal casual straight posture poses which informed me that i should be original and experiment in my posing ideas. The costume itself differenciates itself as the fitted hat is turn sideways to show a new type of fashion or trend which informed me that i should try something new tha tlooks good on my model .

Block Title Analysis

The genre of ‘The Source’ is rap; the font size is very big which makes the acronym stand out. The masthead uses a suitable colour scheme which makes the masthead eye-catching to the customers. It has a lot of images, meaning this could be aimed at teenagers as visual images mostly attract yo0ung ages.

The genre of ‘Vibe’ is rap. This font size is in big black bold metallic capitals to show a certain masculine side to the magazine, as rap music is seen to be a man’s genre to listen to mainly which also would narrow down their target audience. It has a white background and a black font colour; this is the most obvious but also effective colour schemes to use. It’s affective as you can clearly see the name of the acronym also the fact that it is big, gives it an advantage to be seen.

The genre of ‘XXL’ is rap/hip-hop. This isn’t clearly shown in the masthead as we don’t know what XXL stands for. Again the font is in white metallic bold font o create a certain strong, masculine look to the letters. The colour scheme used is red and white which are very eye-catching colours, this means that because such bright colours are used this magazine can be mainly aimed at younger people as they would be attracted by such colours.
